- Political hip-hoppers and all round nice dudes Stanley Odd have a released a new video for “Marriage Counselling”, which featured on their recent album “Reject”. The DIY video sees two Dave Hooks (calm yersel ladies) in differing national dress (Scotland fitbaw tap & Union Jack tee) discussing the upcoming independence vote with viewpoints as seen from both sides of the border. This is one of my favourite tracks from the album and I’m glad to see it recognised with a stand alone video. The track won’t be released as a single but it is more of an aperitif some decent happenings, including a new single which is in the pipeline. Check back here in the next week or so for details of that one you odd-balls.
- It’s been a hugely successful week for indie lads, The 10:04s. Their co-organised one-day music festival Haddowfest went down a storm and was capped with a stunning performance from them while supporting The Cribs at Edinburgh’s HMV Picturehouse. Now the band have announced that their single, S.O.S, will be featured by US cable news channel CNN. The track is to be used on a program by the station which will feature the bands home town of Edinburgh and will be screened worldwide during December. They will hope the exposure will bring in some more well deserved publicity their way. Check out the track below:-
- CHVRCHES are staying right on course with their steady rise with some rather exciting developments. The indietronica trio have just released their second single, “The Mother We Share” worldwide (costing just 79 of your customary pennies on ITunes) while the song has treated to an incredible house-mash up Miaoux Miaoux remix which was featured on Ally McRae’s Radio 1 show on Sunday night. The band have also recorded a BBC Radio 1 session for the lovely Huw Stephens which will no doubt feature their new single. As quite rightly said by Yazz:- The only way is up!
