goNORTH Special – A preview of Scotland’s Premier Creative Industry Festival

Figureheads from across the creative industry spectrum are to gather once again next week as Scotland’s annual premier creative industries festival, goNORTH, returns to Inverness for another year.

The event, taking place Wednesday and Thursday, not only offers an incredible lineup of music but will also host of a number of seminars and workshops that aims to support the

development of the film, fashion, music and publishing industries. Among the guest speakers will be Charlie Andrew (producer on Alt-J’s award winning album An Awesome Wave), Mamie Coleman (Vice President of Music and Production at FOX and one of the top 30 most powerful people in the music industry by Billboard) and Allan de Pallette (Director of BAFTA Scotland) among many many others. Although the festival is free to gain entry, attendees must register before Tuesday 4th June prior to attending.

While the festival caters for those involved in all the creative industries, the primary focus is on the music industry and goNORTH have some of the best independent and unsigned bands showcasing their talents. While over 70 acts have been confirmed for the festival, for us a number of the selected artists stand out as ones to watch. Check out my top ten bands to go and see during the festival:-
